From July 1, 2026, the EU introduced a temporary customs duty on low-value goods imported from outside the European Union.
Under the official rule, consignments with an intrinsic value of up to €150 may be charged €3 per item based on tariff classification, rather than a simple €3 fee for every physical parcel.
To help sellers manage the new costs, CJdropshipping and our logistics partners have upgraded our European customs clearance, duty settlement, and shipping solutions.
1. Cost Optimization Solutions

CJPacket EUB and CJPacket EUB Special Line
Private-to-Private Pilot Route
A pilot C2C route is available for qualifying private-to-private shipments across the 27 EU member states.
Estimated delivery times are:
-
Germany, France, Italy, and Spain: 7 to 10 business days
-
Other EU countries: approximately 2 to 3 weeks
-
The Netherlands: additional cost-optimization solutions are being prepared
The declared value must be below €45.
For the C2C route, the declared value must be below €45. Please note that shipments may still be subject to customs inspection, and the recipient may be required to pay additional duties or taxes.

Duties Included in Shipping Costs
Selected CJ routes may include customs-related costs directly in the logistics price.
This allows sellers to pay one combined shipping amount instead of handling customs duty separately. It can also make order costs more predictable and reduce the risk of customers receiving unexpected payment requests.
Avoid High-Risk Gray-Clearance Routes
Some small logistics providers may advertise unusually low European shipping prices through unclear customs procedures.
These routes may lead to:
-
Customs detention or parcel returns
-
Failed order fulfillment
-
Tracking and payment issues
-
Additional taxes or clearance fees
-
Unclear compensation arrangements
CJdropshipping does not support or recommend shipping routes that rely on false declarations, incorrect product information, or other high-risk clearance methods.
2. Weight-Based Solutions for Lightweight Products

For products weighing between 0 and 1 kilogram, CJ now offers separate routes for different product categories:
1. CJPacket Euro Ordinary
Suitable for eligible general products such as clothing, home goods, accessories, pet products, and nonpowered items.
2. CJPacket Euro Sensitive
Designed for certain battery-related or sensitive products, including selected electronics, LED products, and devices with built-in batteries.
3. CJPacket Euro Cosmetic Line
Designed for eligible cosmetics and beauty products.
Cosmetics must still comply with EU product safety, ingredient, labeling, and registration requirements.
The current subsidized partner rate is:
$1.80 per kilogram + $0.80 per shipment
This is a special logistics subsidy designed to reduce the overall duty and shipping cost of lightweight products. It is not an official EU customs rate.
Final pricing and route availability may vary by product, destination, weight, and customs requirements.
New CJPacket LX Routes

CJ is also introducing additional LX routes for selected product categories:
-
CJPacket LX Sensitive
-
CJPacket LX Sensitive Pro
-
CJPacket LX Sensitive Plant
For eligible shipments, the current subsidized reference charge is:
€2 per package
This €2 fee is a commercial logistics price. It is not the official EU customs duty rate.
The official customs duty may still depend on the number of tariff classifications inside the parcel. Logistics providers may absorb or subsidize part of the actual cost.
Sellers should check whether the fixed price covers VAT, customs clearance, remote-area fees, and mixed-category parcels.
3. Fixed-Cost Shipping Solutions
Under the EU rule, the temporary customs duty is calculated at €3 per item according to tariff classification.
For example, several identical T-shirts under one classification may be charged €3, while a T-shirt and a watch under two different classifications may be charged €6.
Through selected CJ logistics routes, partner subsidies may reduce the seller-side cost to approximately:
€2 per package
These mature and compliant routes helping sellers control costs and maintain more predictable European fulfillment expenses.

Important Product Restrictions
Counterfeit, replica, and intellectual-property-infringing products are prohibited on all listed CJPacket Euro and CJPacket LX routes.
Sellers must also confirm that their products meet relevant EU requirements, including:
-
Product safety rules
-
CE marking
-
Battery regulations
-
Cosmetic compliance
-
Labeling requirements
-
Packaging obligations
-
Product traceability
A product being accepted by a shipping route does not automatically mean it is legally approved for sale in the EU.
Final Note
The July 2026 EU customs update makes accurate declarations and cost planning more important for cross-border sellers.
Instead of relying on risky low-cost customs methods, sellers should compare compliant weight-based routes, fixed-price solutions, logistics subsidies, and EU warehouse fulfillment.
CJdropshipping will continue working with logistics partners to improve European shipping solutions and help sellers reduce overall fulfillment costs.
